A great night at this small Lincolnshire folk club (I even won a raffle prize
)
It being a folk club, I had to sit through the obligitory floor singers, but they weren't bad - even Mike West, whom I was sitting next to was showing them all enthusiasm.
Katie eventially appeared, presumably after putting the kids to bed, and they launched into two great sets that included a couple of numbers from the forthcoming album (can't wait).
I love the way this pair interact and the great deadpan comedy from Mike. At one point, his banjo string broke. Instead of struggling to the end of the number, he just stopped it dead, exclaimed that it was the 'Work of the Devil', picked up his guitar and launched into another number - all within the space of a couple of seconds. Nobody else could have pulled that off!!
Mardi Gras in Kansas, Walk of Shame, My Automobile, Bad News, Johnny and June, 2022, Waffle House Booth, Magnolia Tree (encore), Rockabilly Debutante, The Perfect Pair of Sunglasses, Open the Door, Bad Attitude, Wichita ....
