Morning Session are a band of four lads who play some clever acoustic, self penned tracks, not sounding too dissimilar to some Crowded House numbers. A very pleasant start to the evening.I recall seeing the Cosmic Charlies several years ago at a small pub in Nottingham. My daughter put me onto them - "Hey Dad, there's a Grateful Dead tribute band on tonight. Shall we go?".Whilst that was an enjoyable evening, I was a little disappointed as they only did a handful of recognisable Dead tracks, and the rest were Deadish in the way they meandered around.But a few years on, they started well with a repetoire of definate Dead numbers that had the crowd cheering, in spite of audible crunches and buzzes from a faulty keyboard lead that had to be 'adjusted' on numerous occasions.After a short beer break, they carried on with more of the same (including the duff lead - why didn't they fix it during the break???).I didn't stick it too the end though - friends I was with needed to get off, and it was well past midnight and the CCs were showing no signs of letting up. Maybe a mistake on their part as the audience was beginning to thin out. I know real Dead concerts went on for hours, but ......
