First saw Harry a few years ago, playing at this venue with an outfit called 'Harry and the Growlers'. Loved them then, especially one number when their guitarist transfered his noodling from strings to pedals and extended his solo with lots of echo, pitch shifting and general freakyness.
Since then, have always tried to see them when they play locally, though the last couple of times I have been slightly disappointed as they seem to have gone a bit more acoustic. I prefered their previous lineup that included drums (proper ones, not someone hitting a wooden packing case) and electric bass. In that guise, there was still options for some of the numbers to drift off into the freakyness that first drew me to them.
But they are still worth listening to, and their numbers have some great lyrics (which weren't helped by the muffled PA at this gig.
